The Ohmies is a new series of interactive musical adventures for preschool children.

Through song, creative movement and story-telling, The Ohmies transforms playtime into fun, educational journeys that encourage physical activity, promote cultural diversity, incorporate pro-social issues and cultivate creative problem solving skills. The series features Penny and Poogle Butterfly, two spirited, fun-loving creatures whose curiosity leads to boundless exploration and discovery. As the adventurous pair travels through the magical world of "Ohmland," they encounter other "Ohmies" who help the butterflies (and the audience) overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Storylines in Development

Surprise the Sun

• Penny Butterfly leads her fellow Ohmies on a musical adventure to greet the sun as it rises. Throughout their journey, children are taught the different poses of the Sun Salutation and how to work together to banish "the worries."
• Off Broadway opening slated for Fall '09, open-ended run.
• Has been performed throughout the country since 2001 with outstanding critical and popular response.

Before We Go to Sleep

• A brand new companion piece to Surprise the Sun.
• It is bedtime but Penny is too anxious about her morning adventure and can't fall asleep. Summoning up her courage, she embarks on a journey and learns to unlock the hero within herself.
• Slated to open in reparatory with Surprise the Sun, Winter '10.
